Kids rule the day at Blackduck Lake

Another Saturday, another fishing derby. This time, in Blackduck.

Kids ruled this one, though.

Cindy Johnson, of Bemidji, drills a hole for herself and her three daughters – Holley, Kaitlynn and Jaris, all 12. The three girls were incredibly excited to be on the lake. They even managed to pull in a 1.85 pound northern.

“I was drinking a Dr. Pepper and I almost missed it,” Jaris said.

Fletcher Caucher, 41, is a firefighter with the Blackduck Fire Department. The derby raised funds for the department, while other events went to raise money for youth baseball and hockey in Blackduck.

Kyle, 4, on the left and Craig, 8, shoot a hockey puck toward a net on Blackduck Lake Saturday. The Johnson brothers play for the Blackduck Northstars, and were on the lake with their mother, Jody, to help raise money for the team.

Dalton Jeulson, 8, and Larry Favella, 14, wrestle on Blackduck Lake Saturday. Dalton was able to sweep Larry’s feet out from under him, but the snow padded his fall.

  1. Fantastic pictures.
The best shots are close-ups of kids doing adult things OR
    Kids being Kids.
The one of the kids in mini carhart coveralls playing hocky is very good.
